Step Inside Year One
Welcome to Year 1's Class Page!
Autumn Term
Take a look around our lovely classrooms. We've been busy making it very colourful with creating our own monsters to show that everyone in this year group is unique and wonderful in their own way! We've also created lots of artwork focusing on the artist Picasso.
Black History Month
For Black History Month, Year 1 have focused on Dame Denise Lewis. She was born in West Bromwich and is an Olympic Gold Medallist in the Heptathlon event. We decided to take part in our own Heptathlon to understand how much hard work and dedication Denise Lewis put in to become a gold medallist.
Geography - Where do I live?
To help with our understanding of our topic 'Where do I live?', Year 1 went on a walk around out local area. We enjoyed looking for physical and human features like houses, pavements, hills, woods, crossings, Russells Hall Hospital and more! We have found out that we live in an urban area.
