Our football teams have been busy in action this year and have had lots of success in their fixtures.
Our girls’ football team are competing in the Year 5 & 6 Dudley Schools Girls League and have now completed two rounds of fixtures at Dudley College. The girls were fantastic throughout—thanks to some excellent teamwork, they won all five of their games without conceding a single goal, which is a brilliant achievement to be very proud of!
They will now head to The Dell Stadium in June for Finals Day—good luck, girls!
Year 4 & 5 Football
Our Year 4 & 5 team are competing in the U10 Westwood Trophy and were drawn against Roberts Primary in the first round. After a hard-fought match, they secured a 3–1 victory.
In the quarter-final, they faced Wrens Nest and, despite the heat, produced an outstanding performance to win 7–0. The semi-final followed shortly after against Thorns Primary, and with a place in the final in sight, the team rose to the occasion and won 6–1.
The final is scheduled for later in the year, and the team will be working hard to prepare—go Milking Bank!
Year 5 & 6 Boys Football
The boys’ football team have been competing in the BHDSFA league this year and completed four fixtures. There were some fantastic team performances, which saw them finish top of the table, with two wins and two draws. This success meant they progressed to the Campbell Cup.
After a hard-fought match against Roberts Primary, they were unlucky to lose to a late goal in extra time. Despite the disappointment, the team should be extremely proud of everything they have achieved this year!
Our Year 4 football team were the first to kick off their fixtures this year. They travelled to The Link Academy to compete in their opening league matches alongside seven other local primary schools. On the night, they played three games and delivered an outstanding team performance—winning all three with impressive scores of 2-0, 4-0, and 8-0!
This is an incredible achievement for a squad that had only one training session together. A huge well done to Mr. Pritchard and the team for such a fantastic start!
The first competition of the year saw us heading to Stourbridge Rugby Club for the North Dudley Tag-Rugby Competition. We had two teams representing Milking Bank, giving 23 pupils from Years 5 and 6 the chance to take part in this exciting and highly competitive event. Both teams performed brilliantly in their group matches: our B team secured two victories, while our A team won all four games, finishing top of their group. The A team then advanced to the final, where they faced the winners of the other group. After a brilliant game, Milking Bank were 4–3 winners, crowning us champions! They will now go on to represent North Dudley in the regional finals in June — an incredible achievement in such a tough competition! A huge well done to everyone involved!
