To go further than I thought; to run faster than I hoped; to reach higher than I dreamed.
Please remember to check the Year 5 Google Classroom page for home learning activities. Class teachers are posting regular updates on the Google Classroom class page and you're able to ask them questions here too. We are also setting work using Purple Mash. Don't forget to check Mathletics, Spellodrome, BugClub and Times Tables Rockstars for activities too.
We are absolutely loving our topic this term, Ancient Greece. We are thoroughly hooked on our new class text which is Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. We have been completing lots of theme work and have enjoyed finding out all about Archimedes. We have also made our own Archimedes' screws. We have completed lots of artwork, such as sketching gods and goddesses and drawing columns using chalk.
Year five had an incredible day taking part in Young Voices at The Resorts World Arena on Monday 27th January. They worked extremely hard to learn lots of fantastic songs! They performed alongside Tony Hadley, The Shires and Ruti.
5SC's Anti-Bullying Message
As part of our work during Anti-Bullying week, 5SC have worked collaboratively to create a video all about anti-bullying. At Milking Bank we do not tolerate bullying and are committed to making small changes in order to make a big difference.

Forest School Sessions
We are thoroughly enjoying our Forest School sessions with Jason. We are currently creating our own charms. To begin with, we had to design a very simple mould. Next, we created the mould using either clay or cuttlefish. Once we were happy with our moulds, we had to melt down ingots of pewter over the fire. Once the pewter had melted, we carefully poured it into our moulds and left it to set.
Welcome to Year 5!
