To go further than I thought; to run faster than I hoped; to reach higher than I dreamed.

Year 5

Welcome to the Year 5 page!

Year 5 have had a fantastic start to the year! We are loving our class text which is, Kensuke's Kingdom.

Year Five Assembly

Year five performed their year group assembly to children and parents. Year five based their assembly upon Remembrance Sunday and the Centenary of World War One. The children also researched the fallen soldiers from our local area of Gornal. They each made poppies to remember our local heroes.

Coffee Morning

Parents were invited into school to attend our final forest school session. The children were able to share all of the skills they have learnt this half term with their parents. They built fires and then lit them using flint and steel, and also made artwork using clay and the natural environment. At the end, we cooked popcorn on the fire and had a quiz. A great morning was had by all!

We are taking part in Young Voices 2019!

We are currently working hard to learn all the songs and dances for Young Voices. We will perform at the Genting Arena on January 17th 2019. We are very excited! For children who want to practise at home, ask your teacher for the music room code.

Some of the songs we are learning include:

Viva La Vida

A medley from The Greatest Showman

A pop medley and lots more!
